Moravia Press is the curriculum company behind The Symphony of History and the Epoch & Echo curated learning framework. We exist to create resources that invite families into an education shaped by beauty, truth, and hope.
Rooted in a discipleship-minded philosophy, Moravia Press offers curriculum that is:
- Chronologically grounded in history
- Rich in story, art, and music
- Thoughtfully curated for families seeking depth without overwhelm
Our approach is inspired by the Charlotte Mason tradition, emphasizing living books, restful learning rhythms, and meaningful connections across subjects. Each resource is crafted to guide families in forming hearts and minds—not just transferring information, but nurturing wisdom, virtue, and wonder.
At Moravia Press, we believe education is discipleship. Discipleship is the intentional forming of character to reflect the story that echoes across generations and into eternity – the One True Story of redemption.

We recommend beginning with America the Beautiful, a specially designed introduction to the American Heroic Age, ideal for Kindergarten and early elementary. This foundational study offers:
- Stories of heroic figures and events from early American history
- Simple, age-appropriate introductions to geography, poetry, and song
- Gentle rhythm and repetition to build familiarity and love for history
It’s the perfect first step for young learners—rooted in what is good, brave, and beautiful in the American story.
-
After completing America the Beautiful, families are ready to step into the full Epoch & Echo journey. You’ll:
- Choose a historical epoch (e.g., Ancient World, the Middle Ages, Modern Times)
- Use that epoch to guide your choice of curated studies in:
- Echoes of Beauty (composer, poet, artist, folk songs)
- Echoes of Place (geography, landmarks, maps, cultural study)
- Echoes of Form and Light (architecture and art history) - for Middle School and above
This creates a cohesive and enriching structure where all subjects are meaningfully connected through time, story, and beauty.
-
Epoch & Echo is a curated educational framework that begins with a historical epoch and connects it to meaningful studies in geography, music, poetry, art, and folk culture. It helps families build a rich, cohesive learning experience—one that flows naturally from the stories of history.
-
Start by choosing a historical epoch –The Symphony of History (such as Ancient World, the Middle Ages, or Modern Times). From there, you’ll be guided to related studies in:
- Echoes of Beauty – composers, poets, artists, and folk songs of the time
- Echoes of Place – geography, maps, country and landmark studies
- Echoes of Form and Light – architecture and art history
Everything is curated to support three 12-week terms of study, following a restful and relational approach inspired by Charlotte Mason principles.
-
The Symphony of History is the core history framework around which Epoch & Echo is built. It is a chronological, story-driven approach to history that divides the past into distinct epochs, each offering a narrative flow through time. These epochs serve as the anchor point from which geography and beauty subjects (art, music, poetry, and folk culture) are explored.
How It’s Implemented:
- Choose an epoch (e.g., Ancient World, the Middle Ages, Modern Times)
- Divided into three terms, using suggested living books, historical overviews, and story-based lessons
- Use the chosen epoch to guide your selections in Echoes of Beauty, Echoes of Place, and Echoes of Form and Light ( middle school) creating a rich, integrated study
- Each epoch includes optional timelines, mapwork, reading suggestions, and narration prompts, allowing you to tailor the experience to your family’s needs
The Symphony of History is designed to be flexible, family-friendly, and compatible with Charlotte Mason principles, encouraging depth, reflection, and connection as you move through the story of the world—one era at a time.
-
Epoch & Echo is a curated enrichment framework, not a full core curriculum. It beautifully complements your chosen history spine (such as The Symphony of History) and can be paired with other math, language arts, and science resources of your choice.
-
It’s best suited for elementary and middle school students, though many families use the artist, music, and poetry studies across multiple ages. The flexible format allows you to adjust reading and discussion levels to suit your family.
Echoes of Form and Light is designed for middle school and above.

In a Charlotte Mason education each educational year consists of three terms, each 12 weeks long.
Each history epoch covers an entire year – 30 weeks (with breathing room)
Each echo of place (geography) covers an entire year – 30 weeks (with breathing room)
Each echoes of beauty covers one term – 12 weeks.
Echoes of Beauty focus on:
- 1 composer
- 1 poet
- 1 artist
- 3–5 folk songs
(choose 3 of each for a full year)
You can choose to lengthen the echoes of beauty studies and only choose one for the whole year, but the structure supports a seasonal rhythm with time for depth and enjoyment.
Each echo of form and light (architecture and art history) covers an entire year – 30 weeks (with breathing room)
-
Not at all! The curriculum is designed for regular families, not experts. Each selection comes with brief introductions, suggested listening or viewing, and simple prompts to help you enjoy and discuss the material together.
-
Yes and No. The beauty of Epoch & Echo is that you can begin wherever your family’s interest—or current history study—leads. Each epoch is self-contained and designed to be rich on its own.
However, it it best implemented at the beginning, starting with Ancient history and progressing chronologically.
-
Most studies are designed to take 15–30 minutes, once per week, depending on how deeply you explore. Everything is flexible and easily woven into your weekly rhythm.
The Symphony of History is a full, rigorous history curriculum that will require 30 minutes, 4-5 times per week.
-
Absolutely! The Symphony of History was specifically designed with large families in mind, each studying the same epoch of history at their own level.
Picture study, composer study, poetry, and folk songs are suited for family-style learning, where children of various ages can participate together.
