Folk Song Study
In a Charlotte Mason education, Folk Song Study brings the music of everyday people into the home. Over a 12-week term, students learn a small collection of traditional songs—often from the same region or time period as their history studies.
These songs are simple, singable, and rich with cultural heritage. They often tell stories, reflect local customs, or celebrate life’s ordinary moments. Folk songs can be sung together as a family, listened to during the week, or simply enjoyed for their rhythm and charm.
One culture, a few songs, and many shared moments of joy and connection.
