Ottorino Respighi
Ottorino Respighi...violinist and musicologist, celebrating the Eternal City
A trained musicologist, Respighi loved Renaissance and Baroque music and adapted the compositions for modern orchestration. His Roman Trilogy, which includes Fountains of Rome, Pines of Rome, and Festivals of Rome, is a celebration of the beauty and grandeur of the Eternal City. He taught composition at one of the oldest music institutions in the world and toured throughout Europe.
