Ancient World & Middle East: a Geography Study
ANCIENT WORLD & MIDDLE EAST "Cradle of Kings"...
is the birthplace of civilization. It makes up nearly 3 million square miles and has seen the rise and fall of hundreds of empires, and is currently home to 500 million people.
Through a unique blend of a study of physical geography, expanding map drill, and a study of ancient landmarks the student will gain an understanding of how civilizations flourished along the rivers and waterways and grew into the modern Middle East of today.
This study includes three lessons per week for a 30 week course of geography, focusing on:
- Term 1 (weeks 1-10): Ancient World surrounding the Fertile Crescent, Levant coast, and Mediterranean Sea
- Term 2 (weeks 11-20): Modern Middle East and the progression from ancient to modern countries
- Term 3 (weeks 21-30): region and country study
