Inspired by one of the lines from A. A. Milne's famous celebration of early childhood poems Now We Are Six, this preschool guide covers an entire year of letter learning.

When I Was Four Preschool from Moravia Press provides a gentle introduction to letter learning, introducing each letter in connection with themes – something you are already doing, celebrating, or discussing during the given month. Two letters are studied each month; one scheduled week is provided, with the intention that the following second week is for review with games, activities, and books.

Based on the principle of giving the child something to Think about, something to Do, and something to Love – give your child the opportunity to explore letters and their sounds through quality books, fine and gross motor activities, intersecting mathematical concepts, and art and stem activities.

Teach them to love art, nature, and our great God with carefully chosen artwork and age-appropriate theology concepts.

May they learn that this world is wonderfully made by a loving God who gives to each of us the joy of learning.

  • Learn about pumpkins, snow, and kite flying
  • Connect letter learning to the real world when you learn about baby owls starting to fly and a turkey hatchling
  • Practice mathematical concepts with our intersecting games with hearts and bird's nests
  • Strengthen fine and gross motor movement with fun puddle jumping and dot art
  • and so much more!
