It holds an undeniable mystery, a treasure-like allure, as we continue to uncover how the people of antiquity lived, what they believed, and the manners in which they flourished.


Poets, in particular, have taken up the noble task of giving voice to these distant times,

rendering the events, landscapes, and lives of the ancient world in eloquent verse. Through

their words, we are granted fleeting glimpses of its beauty, grandeur, and enduring spirit.


In this study of the echoes of antiquity, we will see the beauty of the ancient world, consider the enduring structures, heroic stories, and philosophical considerations on the lasting legacy of people.

This guide is designed to be used over one term (12 weeks) with one lesson occurring every week for approximately 20 minutes. I encourage you to have your students recite at least one poem per term.
