Spend the term studying the art and style of the "marbellous painter", nicknamed thus for his realistic paintings of marble. Born in the Netherlands, Alma-Tadema was fascinated with the ancient world of Greece and Rome. He meticulously researched archaeological ruins to accurately portray classical surroundings.

This guide is designed to be used over one term (12 weeks) with one lesson occurring every week for approximately 20 minutes. I do encourage you to display some of the picture study options for more exposure to the art of Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
