John Singer Sargent
John Singer Sargent... portrait painter
Spend the term studying the art and style of one of the most iconic portrait painters. Born in Italy to American parents, Sargent spent his childhood homeschooled and studying the art of the great masters of Europe. He studied under Carolus Duran and befriended some of the greatest artists of his time, such as James McNeill Whistler and Claude Monet!
