Behold Morning Time | Volume Three

Behold beauty in hymns, poetry, and art. Be reminded of the call to carry the truth of the Gospel to all nations.

Volume Three is scheduled to be two terms (Autumn and Spring) and one shorter Winter term. Each term focuses on a type of hymn and studies three hymns and their authors; a style of poetry writing; one missionary; and one art style.

Autumn term:

• lead your family in worship with hymns of Thanksgiving and Testimony

• learn about poets telling stories: Edgar Allen Poe, Carl Sandburg, and Langston Hughes

• see how Lilias Trotter dedicated her life to bringing the truth of the Gospel to the people of northern Africa

• understand the beauty of American Realism and Regionalism: Grant Wood, Edward Hopper, Horace Pippin, and Henry Ossawa Tanner

Spring term:

• lead your family in worship with hymns of Faith

• learn about poets making history: Anne Bradstreet, Phillis Wheatley, and Emma Lazarus

• see how Gladys Aylward dedicated her life to bringing the truth of the Gospel to the people of China

• understand the beauty of Surrealism: Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, and Marc Chagall

This volume of Morning Time includes various cross-curricular activities, such as learning about ravens, sailing, the Statue of Liberty, and much more!

*Written for ages 5-12, but can be adapted for younger or older.
